Outfit post. Wedding.

Standard

So, we were not too lucky with the weather, but for picture time at least it stopped raining πŸ™‚ We went to the castle of Paffendorf for some nice surroundings. (I put the breakdown of the outfit at the end of the post.)

Here we are sitting in front of the castle. Behind us is a very nice park.

I kept changing the shoes, because the ones that I got for the ceremony were so uncomfortable to walk in. It is very weird, because otherwise they are very comfy and do not hurt. But the process of actual walking is very inconvenient, despite the practice at home. So I guess these shoes will wait for a sitting down occasion to be taken out.

Since I am not a white dress type of bride and just wanted something unconvetional, that goes with my shoes that I had already ordered, I spent quite a lot of time on the internets looking for a dress. I had a lot of choices, mostly a one coloured dress or a shirt and skirt combination. You know, make the shoes stick out. Unfortunatelly everything seemed too simple for my taste. Once I saw this Eucalyptus dress, I decided that this is the one. Unfortunately it was a similar odissey as with my shoes. Asos did not have my size or colour. So I was googling all over to find it. Eventually I found it on Ebay in my size and the location of the dress was around 30 km from where I live πŸ™‚ It was definitely a sign. It cost me around 29Euros inculding shipping!

I love that the dress is a bit puffed up, so I did not need to buy a petticoat and I can wear it as a regular dress, not just hang it in the closet for eternity to remember that one day that I wore it. The dress has six buttons in front so it is easy to put on. I think on some fancy occassion I could wear it as an overcoat or smth. πŸ™‚

Aprons were a gift from my sister-in-law. They are quite awesome, everyone loved them πŸ˜€

My witness, who was also a photographer, said that the rubber boots are the best part of the outfit πŸ˜€

In the above picture – we wanted to have some serious schoolchildren expressions, but we could not stop smirking πŸ˜€

And here are the outfits that we were wearing during the ceremony.

My outfit: dress – Eucalyptus, shoes – Irregular choice, earrings – gift from my cousin (around two years ago), parka – pac-a-parka from asos. I grabbed a parka for a short walk to the town hall (much too fancy of a word to describe the actual thing).

My husband’s (!) oufit: shirt and jacket – H&M, jeans – Mustang (inherited from deceased uncle), shoes – converse.

My mom loved my parka so much (you can pack it into the small pouch that is sown on the inside of the parka itself), that asked me to get her one too, unfortunatelly they are not available anymore…

We had few stressfull days (especially after the wedding, because our dear pet ferret died the next day – rest in peace our good bear), so I am sad, tired and do lack inspiration to post. I hope my imaginary readers will forgive me.

Cheers.

Outfit post (what I wore this Summer)

Standard

So, time for some restrospective outfit post and since there are no plans for leaving the appartment today and I wanted to post some pictures, I put something together from previous days. A bit hippy and I love it. Plus I had a chance to try out my tripod πŸ™‚ seems to be quite ok, just takes time to adjust (you know, oops, I cut the shoes out of the frame etc.).

Top and jeans – Esprit, shoes – Converse, bangles – from Russia and Lithiania, bag – from grandma.

I got the jeans and the top last year in London when I was visiting a friend and the zipper of my last pair of jeans gave up on me a weekend before. So this was a necessity. And as usual, jeans are too long, but oh well. Until I walk on them and make holes I can console myself that I can wear them with heels too πŸ˜€ I think they still look good rolled up a bit. The top has such great green colour, love it. Sneakers I got in Budapest about two years ago on sale. They are rather cool, because they are not of simple one colour, but have flowers on them.
Anyway, back to clothes. I just love jeans from Esprit. Almost all of them are with stretch, which helps jeans look perfect and you do not feel like you are trapped in your pants, but also they do not stretch too much, so you do not look like wearing jeans that are too big. Jeans are always the one thing I put more money in, because they are my go to piece of clothing, when I have no idea what to wear.
I wore this outfit while grocery shopping few months back.

Mah man said, that I have an unfriendly expression in the pictures, so sorry for that. Will try to smile more next time.

Cheers.

Outfit post (Berlin)

Standard

So, I’ve gone to Berlin this weekend for my friend’s surprise birthday party. Just some pictures for now, stories – a bit later. All I can tellΒ  that we walked A LOT. Since mah man and some other people were in Berlin for the first time, naturally all touristy sightseeing was a must πŸ™‚

I am wearing t-shirt – Aboriginal, jeans and belt – Esprit, bag – vintage, shoes – blowfish, bangles – from India and Lithuania, earrings – from India.

And here in the Tacheles squat (more on that in another post) all tired. Top – Mango, shorts – Broadway, belt – from a dress by H&M, sandals – Oasis, bag – vintage, earrings (you cannot see here) – gift from my grandma. Mah man – t- shirt and shorts from Esprit, shoes –Β  Converse, sunnies – Polaroid.

More photos of our trip to come.

Cheers.

P.S. while we were in Berlin my tripod had arrived – YAY! Now I can make proper photos on my own πŸ˜€

Outfit post. August 18th, 2010

Standard

OK, so from the below pictures you can tell – I do not like make up πŸ˜€ The only thing that I use on regular basis is mascara (but I have a bit of a problem with my left eye, so for now mascara is put aside), so I would not look too washed out. If there is some special occasion – I use brown and purple eye shadows and brown eye pencil, and sometimes lip gloss. But in general, I do not want my skin to suffer this whole chemistry until I actually DO NEED to cover it up..in like 10 or 15 years :). However, after taking pictures I do see that additional effort is needed.

Also, I would like to have some nicely styled hair too, but first of all – I do not have patience, seconf of all – I don’t know how. I usually opt for some easy-to-take-care-ofΒ  hair cuts and be done with it. Put on to do (to learn) list – learn to do my hair. I have a friend who’s a hairdresser, I hope she will teach me or at least contribute to my hair appearance πŸ˜€ She does make up too, so we’ll see.

Expression suitable for the gloomy rainy day -me, top, bangle and brooch – Asos, skirt and leggings – Esprit, jacket – Retro jeans, rain boots – Be only.

It’s a pitty that it is so dark all the time, many photos came out quite blurry. So I was left only with these lame pose ones. But I like that my blog is starting to get into some sort of shape, and I wanted to share at least something. Plus, I like the idea of looking at this as my visual diary and not just blah blah. I think it will be cool to look back after some time and see what happened when and how it looked like.

Suspicious teacher’s expression – check.

Gonna do some housework around here and then go play dress up πŸ˜€

Cheers.

p.s. who did a rain dance again?!

Levitation and Owls

Standard

As I wrote on Sunday, I will share some info about my husband-to-be’s outfits too πŸ™‚ The photos are from the same day, when we went to take pictures to Paffendorf.

Levitashun – you’re doin’ it rite. I took of my wedge sandals and changed into espadrilles for comfy jumpin’.

T-shirt, shorts and belt – Esprit, shoes – Converse, bracelet – Fossil, necklace – from a vendor in Palanga (a littlo town by the Baltic sea).

Mah man – Taz mode (remember the cute tasmanian devil from Looney toons? :)).Β  Sneakers’ laces look like cute wings πŸ˜€ Gives the impression of Hermes’ shoes or smth.

Making faces.

T-shirt in detail. We call it the Monday t-shirt, because of owls’ eyes.

And here was supposed to be a heart, but after I looked at the picture on my computer I now see that it looks like something else…looks like the tree is mooning us πŸ˜€

Cheers.

Outfit post. Rain…Again…

Standard

So, yesterday it was raining cats and dogs, so to speak. We sat all day at home and played Borderlands on PS3. Since non of the food we had at home, suited our taste that evening, we decided to go for pizza. Pizza place is just 3 minutes of walking distance from our place and I wanted to take few pictures of rainy day suitable outfit, so we were forced to go outside. Here’s what came out (plus some amateur tuning).

Pac-a-parka, jersey top and bangle – Asos, jeggings and umbrella – Esprit, rubber boots – Be only from Amazon.de, earrings – from India.

Here is me making a face while waiting for pizza. And the zebra bangle is visible (I am so on trend πŸ˜€ Animal prints rule all).

And this is just another shot that I liked. Judging from my experience of reading blogs, I always stick to the ones with lots of pictures. So I will try to achieve this on my blog too. Less writting, more showing.

So, coming back to the outfit description. The parka is really awesome – you can pack it in a pocket, that is sown in on the inside. There are still some left on sale. I saw something similar, just a bit more expensive on topshop website too.

The jersey top is just awesome – soft and warm and grey πŸ˜€ And jeggings fit very well into long boots and are stretchy and comfortable. The boots unfortunatelly are a bit too big (I had to go down a size, but they are still a bit large), but I just couldn’t be bothered sending them back a second time for exchange.

So, that’s that for a rainy day – something water resistant and a bit of colour.

Cheers.

p.s. I should really start coming up with names for my outfits…otherwise soon I will start experiencing problems with distincting them.

Yesterday I got to try the new pair shoes I got from Asos instead of my Steve Madden sandals πŸ™‚ They are perfect. The colour, the shape, the leather and they are so comfortable! Also, the ankle strap is not too high, so does not give the optical illusion of a short leg. So, I can further develop my new found love for grey colour.

Image 1 ofΒ ASOS HOTFOOT Leather Ankle Strap Wedges

I used to have an opinion, that if the company makes clothes, then it is most likely that the shoes it produces will be rather crappy – uncomfortable, bad quality or, dunno, something else. I rather trust my feet exlusively to shoe companies. But since Asos has a large collection of shoes, I decided to take my chance and I do not regret πŸ˜€

Lame pose -me, top and cardigan – Esprit, skirt –Β  Benetton, shoes and brooch – Asos, bag – Mango, bangles – from Lithuania and India, earrings – from India, sunnies – Polaroid.

In the morning was a bit cooler so originally the shoes were paired up with jeans (the shoes go really well with almost all of my jeans, which are normally too long for flats and I need to roll them up). I wanted to make some nice pictures in the park, but by the time we managed to actually go to the park it was too warm for jeans so I slipped into my Summer’s favorite skirt.

Since I am new to all this personal style blogging, I am still learning. After I uploaded photos for this post, I noticed that I wore a lot of same stuff (same top, skirt, bag, bangles)…hm…So will need to do something else in the near future. But for now let it be a topic on how to wear the same thing different ways :). After all, we do find clothes that are the most comfortable to us and stick to them, am I right?

Anyway. The skirt you’ve seen here. The bag was featured so far in almost all of my posts as the top and it’s twin too. About the cardigan I wrote here. I also got brooch from asos. I was eyeing it ever since I saw it on the website. Now that it was on sale, I decided to go for it, since I was ordering the shoes from there anyway πŸ™‚

Asos brooch (Miu Miu knock off much :D) Miu Miu swallow brooch.

I just cannot act normal and pose professionally, I need to make a fool out of myself. Here is the proof πŸ˜€

The pictures were made in the castle of Paffendorf, which has a really lovely park.

And here is the park itself.

And here’s us – my dear camera man and me. In the next post you will see his outfit with more description as well πŸ™‚

And also, you can see my earrings. They have a butterfly shape and are quite heavy. I finally got them out of my jewelry box this summer. Before I could not find an outfit that they would go with. Not to self: never get rid of the stuff that you love, but cannot find a way to wear it. Just wait. The time will come.

Cheers.
