Opinion: ripped clothing

Standard

All these ripped pieces of clothing have been around for a while now. Usually I give it time for some new trend to sink in, so I can decide if I like it or not after the initial reaction has faded. And consider if I would actually like to have it in my closet. But if a piece in my wardrobe looks like a moth had feasted on it…I usually get rid of it…or leave it for homewear purposes if I am feeling sentimental towards it.

Anyways. While if ripped jeans can look really great:

And I can almost get used to ripped t shirt trend too (at least it does not make me immediatelly go NOoooooooooooooooOOOOooo). And as long as it does not look like a person is wearing nothing but rag, it is rather ok. Not something that I would wear, but I don’t mind seeing it on other people. They are free to express themselves.

But certain peaces of clothing still give me the creeps. I don’t think I will ever get used to the view of ripped tights. If I WOULD be wearing ripped tights, it would only be in case of accident (I try to carry extra pair or a bottle of nail polish to fix the rip) or if I wore some other pair of coloured tights underneath so make it look intentional. No…I would not be wearing ripped tights by choice. It just gives me the vibe of sloppiness and immediate reaction of rejection. Even though I do try to be accepting towards whatever comes in fashion.

I googled some random images from random places (I should really start putting together some archive of photos). Usually they are under some instructions on how to wear ripped tights. But I just want to say – please don’t wear them. Pweeese.

I don’t mean to be too negative. There’s enough of negativity in this world. But oh well, I am human and there are things that are hard for me to accept. In my opinion – just say NO to ripped tights.

Cheers.
