Outfit post. Shoe Challenge #3

Standard

I took advantage of the good weather to take some pictures for the shoe challenge (check the Shoeperwoman website for more detail). These shoes, though are my current favorite, are also quite difficult to incorporate into an outfit. They look good with rolled up jeans, but I just couldn’t be bothered shaving my legs just for few pictures, hence the black tights. So sue me.

Outfit: skirt and tank top – Esprit, top – H&M jacket – Tiks, shoes – Asos Totally Suede, scarf – Soaked in Luxury, earrings – from India.

There’s not much to report today, except that I cleaned the windows, so just enjoy the pictures πŸ™‚

Cheers

Outfit post. Hippy vibes.

Standard

On Saturday we did some random running around the town, buying expensive food and stuff. Got some fancy oil with herbs, some Christmas liquors to try out (considering to make this year’s gifts edible/drinkable :)). No no, we’re not in Christmas shopping frenzy, but it never hurts to have ideas, right?

My wedge ankle boots are the bestest shoes I own and I wear them almost all the time. Since they have a littlo hippy vibe to them and 70 rock in general, I went for my flared jeans (not sure if this kind of cut is called flare, but it is wider than boot cut, so I think it should be flare :D) and hippy blouse from zara. I like the blue and yellow combination from earlier post, so thought – you can never go wrong with this πŸ˜€ Other stuff – my standard Autumn coat and also my standard Autumn/Winter bag from Sisley (during this time of year this combination is sort of inescapable…).

Outfit: jacket and jeans – Esprit, shirt – pull and bear, top – Zara, shoes – ASOS, bag – sisley, scarf – soaked in luxury.

So far I think the photos for this post turned out the best out of all my photo shoots (thanks to my photographer/husband, who was carrying the bags and was patient enought to take photos :)). I remembered to smile more or less while posing and didn’t forget to pose while smiling :D. Plus, didn’t forget to get some detail shots. Improvin’ – you’re doin’ it rite πŸ™‚

p.s. one of these earrings broke..I have no idea how – I was just stading in the bathroom in front of the mirror and one of the stones just fell into the sink… Mah man needed to perform some plumbing exercises on the sink to get it out…

Cheers.

Shirt dress and ankle booties

Standard

So, I’ve finally got a chance to debut my ankle boots on the blog. They are awesome and I wear them with everything – skirts, jeans, shorts you name it. The annoying part is that they have a cut out part on the side, so when wearing pants or leggings I have to dig well to find proper nylon socks to wear with the shoes (as I mention in a post about socks – I don’t own any black ones). With skirts and shorts – totally different story. Colourful tights and socks spice up outfits perfectly!

Outfit: top – H&M, shirt dress – Sisley, leggings – Esprit, parka – Asos pac-a-parka, ankle booties – Ashley London.

The dress itself is a bit weirdish. It is not cut as normal shirt dress, but it has a rather bubbly butt area..and a clip button to button on the side, which makes it shorter and assimetrycal.

In summer I wear this dress with flat sandals or ballerina flats.

And here are the shoes, wonderful shoes. Sigh…When I was trying them out back in February (or March), a lot of small stones got stuck in the sole 😦 This is how Germans save themselves from falling on slippery snow…by throwing lots of small stones on the pavement. My poor shoes…

This turned out quite nicely.

Much to learn in the posing area…

I have no idea how those personal style bloggers do it with taking pictures in the streets. Especially with the tripod. Good thing I have a photographer…Easier to handle all the staring :).

Cheers.

Socks, wonderful socks

Standard

I am so glad that socks are making a comeback. I don’t own any black socks (well, maybe a one pair at most), but I never have the chance to show them off. But now… πŸ™‚ Socks were all over runways. FERY GOOD! (I will not explain this internal joke, I just use this phrase a lot.)

I love that the socks were showed off, but there is one but. I would never stuff my besocked feet into sandals or shoes because of one very simple reason – the shoes would stretch and when I would want to wear them without socks, they would have turned into overstretched uncomfortable to wear shoes. Since my budget does not stretch as the shoes might, I need to consider the practical side too. So, up until know the only option of fancy legs were tights. But I abandoned wearing fancy tights few years ago. (Now starting to pick up on this old habbit again)

Back in January I bought a pair of great shoe boots (or booties as I’ve read on the internets) from Shelly’s (they deserve a separate post). And now I can show off my socks, that were hiding in knee high boots and under jeans, too! In the above and below pictures you can see my collection (not full) of socks I own. I also ordered some colourful tights a few days back. My Autumn will not be moody, that’s for sure πŸ™‚

All of the socks (except for one pair) are of Lithuanian brandΒ  Skinija. I just love their designs and quality. Unfortunatelly their website is not too great, but I hope my photos speak for themselves. So if you have a chance to visit Lithuania, you should be able to find these socks in any supermarket.

The grey socks on top are over knee socks. I asked my friend to buy them and bring them from London (since we do not have Top Shop here and other over knee socks are really expensive – roll eyes out) when she would come to my wedding. They are awesome and already made a debut during the dinner after the wedding (not sure ifΒ  there are any outfit pictures, because I was not taking any pictures…but I am sure I will repeat the outfit).

I also looked up tights on the internets and rediscovered this brand of tights called Veneziana. I think it’s a Polish brand, judging by the domain pl :). I used to wear tights from them back in Lithuania. I remember I was not too facinated by the quality, but the design really compensated for this flaw.

And I was looking up leggings too and discovered this cute and wonderful brand called Pepper tree. I’ve never heard of them before, just found them on amazon.de. And now I am eyeing this pair of leggins πŸ˜€

So, recommendations for Autumn – colourful socks, tights or leggings and ankle boots to show them off! Enjoy!

Cheers.
