Wine tasting…

Standard

Yesterday our family and the family of our friends decided to have a little trip to a nearby town (about 50 km away). Turned out, it was wine tasting weekend there and it was swarming with people, plus the weather was really kind too.Β  We did not get much of wine to taste, except for this special type of wine, which one must drink within 8 days (we’ve got ourselves two bottles), oh well.
Anyway, outfit pics did not turn out too well, but we made some nice photos of a town and it’s surroundings. It is such a darn cute place. All the old town is within old city walls.

But since it was a bit too crowded, we got outside the walls after lunch and took a walk near vinyards and the river.

I am wearing: top – Aboriginal, capris(shorts?) – United Colours of Benetton, sandals – Oasis, bag – Roxy (from EBay), earrings – Asos, bangles – my standart set of bangles from Lithuania, Russia, India and Germany.

My earrings would always turn their pretty side away, so needed to hold them for the picture πŸ™‚ Nevermind the droopy expression.

Outfit post (what I wore this Summer)

Standard

So, time for some restrospective outfit post and since there are no plans for leaving the appartment today and I wanted to post some pictures, I put something together from previous days. A bit hippy and I love it. Plus I had a chance to try out my tripod πŸ™‚ seems to be quite ok, just takes time to adjust (you know, oops, I cut the shoes out of the frame etc.).

Top and jeans – Esprit, shoes – Converse, bangles – from Russia and Lithiania, bag – from grandma.

I got the jeans and the top last year in London when I was visiting a friend and the zipper of my last pair of jeans gave up on me a weekend before. So this was a necessity. And as usual, jeans are too long, but oh well. Until I walk on them and make holes I can console myself that I can wear them with heels too πŸ˜€ I think they still look good rolled up a bit. The top has such great green colour, love it. Sneakers I got in Budapest about two years ago on sale. They are rather cool, because they are not of simple one colour, but have flowers on them.
Anyway, back to clothes. I just love jeans from Esprit. Almost all of them are with stretch, which helps jeans look perfect and you do not feel like you are trapped in your pants, but also they do not stretch too much, so you do not look like wearing jeans that are too big. Jeans are always the one thing I put more money in, because they are my go to piece of clothing, when I have no idea what to wear.
I wore this outfit while grocery shopping few months back.

Mah man said, that I have an unfriendly expression in the pictures, so sorry for that. Will try to smile more next time.

Cheers.

Outfit post (Berlin)

Standard

So, I’ve gone to Berlin this weekend for my friend’s surprise birthday party. Just some pictures for now, stories – a bit later. All I can tellΒ  that we walked A LOT. Since mah man and some other people were in Berlin for the first time, naturally all touristy sightseeing was a must πŸ™‚

I am wearing t-shirt – Aboriginal, jeans and belt – Esprit, bag – vintage, shoes – blowfish, bangles – from India and Lithuania, earrings – from India.

And here in the Tacheles squat (more on that in another post) all tired. Top – Mango, shorts – Broadway, belt – from a dress by H&M, sandals – Oasis, bag – vintage, earrings (you cannot see here) – gift from my grandma. Mah man – t- shirt and shorts from Esprit, shoes –Β  Converse, sunnies – Polaroid.

More photos of our trip to come.

Cheers.

P.S. while we were in Berlin my tripod had arrived – YAY! Now I can make proper photos on my own πŸ˜€

Yesterday I got to try the new pair shoes I got from Asos instead of my Steve Madden sandals πŸ™‚ They are perfect. The colour, the shape, the leather and they are so comfortable! Also, the ankle strap is not too high, so does not give the optical illusion of a short leg. So, I can further develop my new found love for grey colour.

I used to have an opinion, that if the company makes clothes, then it is most likely that the shoes it produces will be rather crappy – uncomfortable, bad quality or, dunno, something else. I rather trust my feet exlusively to shoe companies. But since Asos has a large collection of shoes, I decided to take my chance and I do not regret πŸ˜€

Lame pose -me, top and cardigan – Esprit, skirt –Β  Benetton, shoes and brooch – Asos, bag – Mango, bangles – from Lithuania and India, earrings – from India, sunnies – Polaroid.

In the morning was a bit cooler so originally the shoes were paired up with jeans (the shoes go really well with almost all of my jeans, which are normally too long for flats and I need to roll them up). I wanted to make some nice pictures in the park, but by the time we managed to actually go to the park it was too warm for jeans so I slipped into my Summer’s favorite skirt.

Since I am new to all this personal style blogging, I am still learning. After I uploaded photos for this post, I noticed that I wore a lot of same stuff (same top, skirt, bag, bangles)…hm…So will need to do something else in the near future. But for now let it be a topic on how to wear the same thing different ways :). After all, we do find clothes that are the most comfortable to us and stick to them, am I right?

Anyway. The skirt you’ve seen here. The bag was featured so far in almost all of my posts as the top and it’s twin too. About the cardigan I wrote here. I also got brooch from asos. I was eyeing it ever since I saw it on the website. Now that it was on sale, I decided to go for it, since I was ordering the shoes from there anyway πŸ™‚

Asos brooch (Miu Miu knock off much :D) Miu Miu swallow brooch.

I just cannot act normal and pose professionally, I need to make a fool out of myself. Here is the proof πŸ˜€

The pictures were made in the castle of Paffendorf, which has a really lovely park.

And here is the park itself.

And here’s us – my dear camera man and me. In the next post you will see his outfit with more description as well πŸ™‚

And also, you can see my earrings. They have a butterfly shape and are quite heavy. I finally got them out of my jewelry box this summer. Before I could not find an outfit that they would go with. Not to self: never get rid of the stuff that you love, but cannot find a way to wear it. Just wait. The time will come.

Cheers.

Outfit post (what I wore this Summer)

Standard

Since the weather does not allow me to repeat any outfits that I wore this Summer, and take pictures, I need to dress up for a ‘photoshoot’ πŸ™‚

Here we go. This was an outfit that I sported several times back in June and July.

Top – Esprit, skirt and earrings – from a market in India, Sandals – Oasis, bag – vintage (I never thought that I would use such a fancy word to describe a bag I got from my grandma :D), bangles – India, Lithuania, Russia.

Please subtract the glasses from the picture. During the peak of usage of this outfit, it was simply too hot and too annoying to wear glasses, I needed to stick contacts in my eyes.

The skirt was aquired back in Autumn of 2007, when I was in India for my SAP course (yes, I’m a geek). Me and my colleagues went to the market called Dilli Haat (cannot guarantee that this is the correct spelling) to get presents for the people waiting for them back home :D. You need to pay to enter this market, I am a bit afraid to lie how much it costs, but it is really cheap (less than 1 euro for sure…maybe 15 rupees), but because of this fee there are no beggars, which, if you’ve been to India you will agree, is really relieving. The sellers rotate every two weeks, so you never know what you might find there. We bought a huge pile of wool scarves for ‘special price’, which would be given by us :). My colleague annoyed the sellers (he may have been Indian in his past life) until they would cave πŸ˜€ Anyway. I saw this skirt in that market too, while looking for a present for my niece. (She got a skirt with littlo bells :)) It is slightly too big, but I make it work :).

The bag goes really well with this whole outfit, IMHO. Strentghens the hippie vibe. I remember I asked my grandma around 9 years ago if she still had the bag and she asked to make sure – ‘that potatoe sack?’. After I got it from her, I dragged it around with me A LOT. Since it is made out of some synthetic material which is rather hard, the straps would break from time to time, my father was regularly employed by me to sow them back together πŸ™‚ This Summer I took the bag out again. It is awesome and I can say, that I have true piece of vintage in my closet :D.

The shoes (please nevermind the non existant pedicure). After seeing a collection from Prada with chandelier sandals and investigating Melissa Lady dragon shoes, I knew I would not be opposed to wearing plastic shoes. This was just a thought in the back of my head, not a conscious decision. But after I saw these on Asos, while looking for flat sandals for Summer, I knew I have to get them. They were definitely a hit this Summer, I wore them non stop. They go with everything πŸ˜€

Earrings. I got them at the same Dilli Haat market in India. All earrings I got in India are so heavy…They drag my ears down, but oh well, I love them!

Btw, I got a new haircut πŸ™‚ It is perfect to have a friend who is a hairdresser. πŸ™‚

Cheers.
