Outfit post (Shoe challenge #2)

Standard

The sun is finally coming out and Spring seems to have finally arrived. As a consequence I am not feeling so sleepy all the time. That’s why I give you!..the result of a Sunday walk.

Outfit: jeans and tank top – Esprit, hoodie – Vertus (some Polish knock off brand I think), jacket – Tiks, belt – Fat Face,Β  Shoes – Converse, sunnies – Polaroid.

This week we discovered that it is now allowed to go behind the nearby forest into some former mining area (pictures to come). We had quite a stroll and took some nice pictures. It was quite a perfect time to practice my posing – not many people around. But now I think that it is not worth it – it is much more fun to have strange photos that reflect my personality. For example on the picture on the left I am about to sneeze.

Anyway, no fancy shoes to show off, I do not tend to wear heels in the fields or forest. Hence, the reasonable choice – Converse. I acquired them in London a couple of years ago. I bought the jeans in London as well, got quite a good bargain if I remember correctly.

Since I needed some comfortable outfit for a long walk, I just added some colour with the weird belt and a tank top, not to be totally gloomy. I think it still looks better than the standard German outfit for such a thing – couples usually look totally alike – wearing jack wolfskin windbreakers (or of some similar company), jeans and trekking shoes and usually accessorizeΒ  with those sticks for walking (you know, the ones that look like skiing sticks) and a big dog.

People often assume I am an angry person, but it is just my facial expression πŸ˜€ It indicates how well I’ve slept the night before. Not very well, judging from the above pictures. And since I do not hide behind the ton of make up, this is what you see in the pictures – angry me! Deal with it.

Enough of none essential BS, here are the details of my outfit. My belt, which I bought while being stranded at Heathrow airport – my flight was insanely delayed and I, of course, searched for comfort in retail therapy. (Btw,Β  it turns out I wore the belt upside down…my typical scatter brainness.)

There is a silhouette of a horsie on my hoodie, even has mane and stuffs. You like?

Cheers.

Annoyance

Standard

I didn’t have proper conditions to take pictures of this outfit, when I was wearing it (what a surprise…). Just before New Year my husband and I went to see ‘Grease’ (the clothes were awesome πŸ˜€ performance…not so much). Light in the evening was, of course, crappy, so I thought to myself – next time…

Today while laying in bed I finally realized, that there actually IS a spot at home, that I could use for taking pictures, just need to move some stuff around, but… It is a plain white wall and my camera very stubbornly refused to focus automatically…my visions is worse thanΒ  my camera’s so my manual focus magic didn’t turn out too well either…There were more outfits from this infamous photo shoot, but everything is blurry, in other words – total embarrassment… Not that this isn’t, but I am just sick of not having posted any outfits in a while because of the quality of the pictures. So, the point is to document what I wear, evaluate and evolve, right? πŸ™‚ In other words – no matter how lame the pictures are, at least these have to reach the world out there.

Outfit is not exactly complete – no make up unfortunately, but I got so annoyed adjusting the camera, that I could not be bothered putting more effort into something that is usually not very important for me (or was…as of Christmas I expanded my make up kit and it is not limited anymore to just mascara). Also, I was wearing a black long sleeved top under the dress, so I would not get cold.

Outfit: dress – Promod, belt – vintage from my mom, boots – Bronx, tights – Asos, ring – something from Disney collection, cannot remember the brand, earrings – from India.

I just love this trend, that’s been around for quite a long while now – BELTING! FTW! I think it is a really nice way to add that something to the outfit. I am not very good at it…yet πŸ˜€ This is the only outfit so far that I can pull off (except for belts in jeans, which are more of a necessity rather than a fashion choice).

The ring was a birthday gift from my friends (from my wish list), it is from Alice in Wonderland collection or smth :). Follow the white rabbit (Matrix alert!…dear lord…my mind just cannot stick to one thing at a time, can it?). Continuing a short acquisition story – I bought the dress back in 2008, when I worked in Budapest. Quite nice to have things from all over the world in my closet πŸ™‚ It is not just about fashion or style, but also – about memories πŸ™‚ And this dress did enjoy Budapest πŸ˜€

Cheers.

p.s. note to self – get a remote control for the camera.

Outfit post. Forest fun.

Standard

We visited our dear friends on Halloween. Before the dinner we went for a walk in the forest. I needed to change my shoes unfortunately, so the oufit is not exactly what I was wearing (originally it looked a bit 70s :)), but I could not risk wading throught the mud in good shoes. I have my rubber boots for exactly this purpose – crappy weather and/or walking conditions. I think I am still way too practical to be an actual fashion blogger…I worry if I will be comfortable, if I will not ruin my clothes or shoes, if the bag will not be in the way, the skirt will not be too short, so I don’t end up pulling it down all the time etc. So often I end up wearing not exactly what I had in mind. But believe me, in this case rubber boots were a must…

Outfit: top – Esprit, sweater – United Colors of Benetton, jeans and belt – Esprit, scarf – from the market in India, jacket – some (non existing any more?) Lithuanian brand Tiks, boots – The Only, from amazon.

Due to my lame posing (I am still polishing my technique…*cough*) I could use only this one picture of my outfit, so more stories under forest pictures.

I bought the sweater in India. It is made of awesome wool..you know, the one that bights the skin? I love it. The colour is so nicely in your face :). Perfect piece for the winter – both practical and cute.

The jacket was aquired years ago, and I mean years…Like 7 or so. I wear it every year, it has never stayed in my closet during this jacket appropriate weather. I bought it for my last money. A couple of my friends from university and me were wandering this outlet store (at that time it was not that popular yet) and I saw this jacket for 35 Litas I think (around 10 euros in today’s currency rates) and I scraped my last money (I think it was all coins :D) and bought it. What an investment. I really love it when this happens – manage to snag a thing of great quality for a steal πŸ˜€

Outfit post. Posing in the garden.

Standard

We are trying to put our two remaining ferrets with a new company. Since we had a chance to go to the garden of the people who have our potential pets, I decided to try some posing where people cannot see me πŸ˜€ Turns out..I’m not that much of a poser… But I did manage to pick few photos out of the bunch of fail. Here goes.

Shirt – Zara, jeans – Esprit, belt – vintage, shoes – Bronx, earrings – gift from my cousin, bracelet – gift, watch – Casio.

Please nevermind the messy hair and focus on clothes πŸ™‚ I wanted a similar shirt for a while now, sort of a loos fit. I found it in Zara in Cologne last week. I love the role up sleeves and the dark blue colour. Will need to investigate how it looks with long sleeves though.

Jeans were aquired in Budapest. I was coming back to them until I found them on sale (and they were still too expensive, but I got them :D). I really love the cut of these jeans. Also the light denim and the percentage of elastane make them really perfect for summer. Definitely my favorite pair.

I got the belt from my moms closet. I’m glad she did not get rid of some oldies, because I found some real treasures when I was visiting back in May.

Shoes are quite old. I got them back in Lithuania around three years ago. A bit of a pain to look after them and after some time I see that I would prefer different heel instead of the wooden one. But they go really well with jeans (not so much with skirts) which cover the heel, so not a big deal then :).

Cheers.

Outfit post. New camera try outs.

Standard

Some days simply disappeared. Su much has happened in the last week, that after a calm day passes, you forget it ever existed. So, now that it happened, that we have a new camera (Nikon d3000), we needed to mark the occassion by taking it outside. Plus the weather was finally nice.

First the outfit, more try out results in the next post.

Jersey top – asos, jacket – Retro jeans, jeans – FLG jeans , belt and scarf – esprit, shoes – Converse(got last year in London), bag – Lacoste(from Ebay), earrings – gift from my cousin, vintage camera – Zorki 4K family heirloom.

A portrait picture, to check what our camera can do. I always liked the manual focus possibility, which I could not achieve with my point and shoot Lumix TZ3.

The whole outfit gives me a bit of 70s or early 80s feeling. I like. The top combination was already seen here. I wrote before, that I sort of repeat the same clothes, but now that I think about it, I do not want to show ALL NEW stuff on my blog. It is actually fun to wear same clothes differently. I like that the top combination goes well with a skirt as well as with jeans. So I think that I will continue on similar path. Because well, not everyone (including yours truly) can afford to have a vast wardrobe and show new clothes in every post (unless they do their posts rather rarely :)). So there, philosophy of my blog is starting to shape up.

I asked my dad to bring me his old camera. As a kid I always fiddled around with it and now I finally get to try it too πŸ™‚ We bought 4 films and they are all 36 frames, which is kind of annoying – it will take some time to use up the film and see if anything good came out.

And here is mah man (mah husband! I should say). We both need time to adjust to the camera, it has so much functions, that we learn via trials and mistakes. This picture turned out a bit to bright, but I amΒ  not one of those people who will NOT put crappy (depending on the point of view) pictures in public πŸ˜€ The important thing here is, that the oufit is visible, right?

Oufit: cap – Starter, pullover and cargo pants – H&M, shoes – converse, backpack – Campus.

And here is some more fiddling around. I kind of like this overexposure. Looks like a vintage photo. So there you go. Have a nice day.

Cheers.

Standard

So, I’ve gone to Berlin this weekend for my friend’s surprise birthday party. Just some pictures for now, stories – a bit later. All I can tellΒ  that we walked A LOT. Since mah man and some other people were in Berlin for the first time, naturally all touristy sightseeing was a must πŸ™‚

I am wearing t-shirt – Aboriginal, jeans and belt – Esprit, bag – vintage, shoes – blowfish, bangles – from India and Lithuania, earrings – from India.

And here in the Tacheles squat (more on that in another post) all tired. Top – Mango, shorts – Broadway, belt – from a dress by H&M, sandals – Oasis, bag – vintage, earrings (you cannot see here) – gift from my grandma. Mah man – t- shirt and shorts from Esprit, shoes –Β  Converse, sunnies – Polaroid.

More photos of our trip to come.

Cheers.

P.S. while we were in Berlin my tripod had arrived – YAY! Now I can make proper photos on my own πŸ˜€

Levitation and Owls

Standard

As I wrote on Sunday, I will share some info about my husband-to-be’s outfits too πŸ™‚ The photos are from the same day, when we went to take pictures to Paffendorf.

Levitashun – you’re doin’ it rite. I took of my wedge sandals and changed into espadrilles for comfy jumpin’.

T-shirt, shorts and belt – Esprit, shoes – Converse, bracelet – Fossil, necklace – from a vendor in Palanga (a littlo town by the Baltic sea).

Mah man – Taz mode (remember the cute tasmanian devil from Looney toons? :)).Β  Sneakers’ laces look like cute wings πŸ˜€ Gives the impression of Hermes’ shoes or smth.

Making faces.

T-shirt in detail. We call it the Monday t-shirt, because of owls’ eyes.

And here was supposed to be a heart, but after I looked at the picture on my computer I now see that it looks like something else…looks like the tree is mooning us πŸ˜€

Cheers.
