Sausage dog

Standard

Just a partial outfit post – only outer layers, named after my beret.

Just some info on the outfit, due to the lack of insporation – I always wanted a trench coat, but of course it could not be normal, as in classy. This one is awesome – was a gift for my last birthday from myself – the lining can be taken out, so you can wear it all year round (unless it is really freezing) and it is of all kinds of funky colors. So – good enough for work, but it does not make me sink into depression, just because it is all black.

The scarf is from around 5 years ago – I got it in India. Some random mittens from amazon.com, called Guru or something like that. Burgundy turtleneck sweater peeking from behind the scarf ย is from H&M on sale and has turned into a favorite. Knee high socks, I think from asos, but I am not sure anymore. My trusty Timberland boots and the Free people beret, called – the sausage dog…OK OK there is no THE, but I got it because of the name and it is warm and funky…

And the most important ย thing – the bag. I got it on zalando-lounge for 24 Euros! I’ve been looking for a faux fur bag for several years now and this was such an epic steal. I am ridiculously happy with it – chic yet crazy. By Patrizia Pepe.

Cheers

Jean shorts

Standard

There was quite a huge trend last summer methinks, where almost all blogs and fashion mags where jumping on a cut offs’ wagon. I love jean shorts myself, but had to wait it out until the trend died down. When it is on a roll, the outfit will be lost in a see of the same stuff everyone wears. Dunno…would make it less special or would feel like mimicking.

So anyway. I finally got myself some awesome jean shorts on H&M sale. Don’t think they are summer appropriate though – the material is quite thick. So just after I got them in November or December, they turned into my Autumn uniform.

Wearing: sweater and shorts – H&M, button down – Etam, boots – Timberland.

Paired with opaque tights was very weather appropriate (and I do dress weather appropriate 99% of the time).

Let’s talk boots now. I did not have any flat shoes for the transitional (or however you want to call it) weather. When it is no longer warm enough to wear ballerinas, but not quite the time for the boots with fur.

I am really happy with this acquisition – I am wearing the boots all the time – they are and look awesome, so cost per wear is reducing as we speak. The 150Eur price tag is completely justified and approved. I had to go half a size up though, cause my usual size 38 (UK 5) was a bit narrow and I like to keep the option open to wear more than one pair of socks without compromising the blood flow to and from my feet.

I will leave all the responsible and green aspect of the boots aside. Cause even though there are partly recycled materials used in the production of the boots, yet those boots are not made locally blah blah blah and not sure if the recycling would compensate for the carbon footprint due to transportation and what not. I just think that these are good looking boots of great quality and I am sure I will be wearing them for years to come. Also not bad, that a couple of plastic bottles where turned into parts of the shoe, right? And I said I would leave this aside..whatevs.

Here is a detailed shot of a sweater. All of my sweaters are sortta shape revealing and lately I felt like I need to get some stuff, that is looser. The colour is something I’ve been drawn to for a while and I like the littlo pocket.
Not sure how long the sweater is going to last, since the quality ist not superb, but I think it already paid off, cause I wear it “ALL THE TIME” (HOW ANNOYING IS THIS PHRASE?!)

Cheers.

Cognac

Standard

I am missing dresses and skirts in my winter wardrobe, so here is a new addition – a full brown skirt (also a result of H&M sale abuse).
This is an outfit that I wore to work last week.

There is some more brown stuff going on in this picture apart from a skirt as you can see (a blogger who chooses her words carefully might say – earthy colors or cognac, hence the title of a post) – brown elbow patches (yay!) and stitches on the cardigan and brown boots. And some awkward posing to top it all off.

I am quite happy with the skirt, despite it being synthetic and being a total pain to iron. And here is a detailed shot. I changed the belt that came with the skirt with a belt, that I got from my mom.

And here are the awesome elbow patches:

Plus the boots:

Outfit details: skirt- H&M, button down – Etam, cardigan – Esprit, belt – vintage, tights – dunno, boots – Bronx.

So there you go. Cognac.

Annoyance

Standard

I didn’t have proper conditions to take pictures of this outfit, when I was wearing it (what a surprise…). Just before New Year my husband and I went to see ‘Grease’ (the clothes were awesome ๐Ÿ˜€ performance…not so much). Light in the evening was, of course, crappy, so I thought to myself – next time…

Today while laying in bed I finally realized, that there actually IS a spot at home, that I could use for taking pictures, just need to move some stuff around, but… It is a plain white wall and my camera very stubbornly refused to focus automatically…my visions is worse thanย  my camera’s so my manual focus magic didn’t turn out too well either…There were more outfits from this infamous photo shoot, but everything is blurry, in other words – total embarrassment… Not that this isn’t, but I am just sick of not having posted any outfits in a while because of the quality of the pictures. So, the point is to document what I wear, evaluate and evolve, right? ๐Ÿ™‚ In other words – no matter how lame the pictures are, at least these have to reach the world out there.

Outfit is not exactly complete – no make up unfortunately, but I got so annoyed adjusting the camera, that I could not be bothered putting more effort into something that is usually not very important for me (or was…as of Christmas I expanded my make up kit and it is not limited anymore to just mascara). Also, I was wearing a black long sleeved top under the dress, so I would not get cold.

Outfit: dress – Promod, belt – vintage from my mom, boots – Bronx, tights – Asos, ring – something from Disney collection, cannot remember the brand, earrings – from India.

I just love this trend, that’s been around for quite a long while now – BELTING! FTW! I think it is a really nice way to add that something to the outfit. I am not very good at it…yet ๐Ÿ˜€ This is the only outfit so far that I can pull off (except for belts in jeans, which are more of a necessity rather than a fashion choice).

The ring was a birthday gift from my friends (from my wish list), it is from Alice in Wonderland collection or smth :). Follow the white rabbit (Matrix alert!…dear lord…my mind just cannot stick to one thing at a time, can it?). Continuing a short acquisition story – I bought the dress back in 2008, when I worked in Budapest. Quite nice to have things from all over the world in my closet ๐Ÿ™‚ It is not just about fashion or style, but also – about memories ๐Ÿ™‚ And this dress did enjoy Budapest ๐Ÿ˜€

Cheers.

p.s. note to self – get a remote control for the camera.
