Stylin’ online. H&M. Looklet. Quick review.

Standard

So I guess retail chains start to get involved in styling online tools. I saw this yesterday on H&M Facebook page.

I, myself, welcome such a step. I like, that you can style the look and then buy online the things that you chose for the outfit, rather than be annoyed waiting in line for the dressing cabin, drag clothes back and forth in different sizes, and in winter it is even more annoying since my hair gets all static on me and my head looks like christmas tree without decorations or my hair sticks to all the clothes, plus H&M stores are normally quite big, so it is not easy to find what you are looking for. So, as of last year I am nothing if I’m not an online shopper 😀 Here are few looks that I styled yesterday:

The collection available online, lacked colour IMHO, but oh well. I hope that they will add more clothes and accessories and also more filters for clothing, so one could chose on sale items or things in a certain price range. HM website says they’ve got it from looklet.com. I just looked it up, the tool looks quite nice, but I didn’t want to sign up for yet another tool and I just saved a print screen of a look that I created:

What is more convenient than at couturious is that background choice is available on the side, you do not need to flip through the whole selection to find what you’re looking for. And also, I really liked the effects (you can make the picture look vintage, or with smoke, or blurred etc.). I didn’t go deeper, maybe next time I will check out the layering possibilities and stuff.

All in all, the tool  works quite well, convenient to use. The only difference  that I’ve noticed so far,  between what H&M have and the Looklet, was that original tool has (of course) more backgrounds and models to choose from so (of course) there is a tiny difference between using H&M and Looklet tools (on H&M both choices for models and backgrounds are in the same tab, duh :)). Plus, when choosing backgrounds at Looklet, you can immediately see the actual look that you have in all the backgrounds, so it makes the choice a bit easier (can directly distinct if it will be too dark or too bright for the look etc.) Anyway, try it yourselves, it is fun 🙂

Stylin’ online. Quirky outfits

Standard

A couple of outfits I created. A bit of a play on animal print trend and jeans overalls.

Happy Decorator
Animal print trend

Dunno if I would wear the one with leopard pants. As I wrote some time before, I don’t think that I would be able to pull of pants like that…probably would end up lookin like I am sporting pajamas…But the one with jeans overalls…with melissa pink shoes…Would be purfect.

Styling online. Autumn colours

Standard

So, here are the two outfits I put together today. Stuff I would like to wear if I owned anything close to it. One outfit with Autumn layering against the cold weather and another one with a pop of colour against depressing weather 🙂

Items to be put on my wishlist: checked jeans, lace up knee boots, knee length quirky print skirt.

Styling online: outfit post. At the beach.

Standard

While drop crotch pants are not really my thing, I think that in this case they provide a perfect amount of cute and this outfit is great for a day at the beach. I would gladly wear it…sigh…if only I had a chance to go to the beach today :D.

Comfy at the beach

I like how different colours and patterns fall into one nice piece, so decided not to overaccessorize.

The next oufit came out a bit too matchy-matchy colourwise, so I decided to add some blue accessories. Came out cute, IMHO. Would definitely wear this myself.

Styling Online. Couturious

Standard

I love playing with clothes, but I feel rather limited with my closet’s contents. Besides, sometimes I’m not sure if some particular piece will work well with the rest of my stuff and I avoid buying it then. The easy way to play around safely is to try online first.

I discovered Couturious while randomly browsing through fashion blogs and comment and joined immediatelly (here is my profile) 🙂 In some time I got an email, that I am among TOP 50 stylists there! How cool is this 🙂 Anyway. I think that my playing a virtual stylist will become a frequent post.

So, here are my yesterday’s creations. The weather is really pressing on me, so the looks are not too colourful. But I still like them and as almost all my creations on Couturious – I would wear them myself.

Weekday CoolOffice in Summer

One casual outfit and one a bit classier, wearable to work (if the cleavage does not bother you :))

A little info about the tools. Couturious is easy to use. You can log in with your Facebook account. You can pick a model and a background (pitty, that they do not have different body shape models yet, but hopefully they will be available soon :)). You can pick clothing, accessories, jewelry, shoes. For most items you can choose different placing (i.e. your model can carry a bag on a shoulder, or on a wrist), also there is certain degree of layering available. In my opinion, does not work too well, when you want to cover some puffy thing with a tight one, but oh well 🙂 But you can tuck shirt into pants or pants into shoes quite efficiently. I think it is a really great tool with on going developments. So enjoy. I know I do 😀

Cheers.

p.s.  I do not work for couturious and they are not my sponsors 🙂
