Finally! Time to wear floppy hats!

Standard

I was so happy to wear this outfit. I could finally wear my floppy Autumn hat! And the outfit turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head. The proportions – just how I imagined. Textures match, how I wanted them to (yes, I am obsessed with clothes). Everything. This is hands down my favourite outfit this Autumn. I enjoyed it that much more, because I have few chances to take out my casual stuff for a spin.

I got to enjoy this outfit mostly in the dark though… it honoured the movie theatre with it’s presence – we went to see the second Thor movie (which was goooood!).

And a few detail shots. This hat is just so awesome. It was a gift from my husband. I have no idea when people decided that this is an appropriate gift for my birthday, but I totally turned into a hat lady. Maybe I will write an ode to a hat I saw on zara.com and was obsessing about it for several days until it got sold out. :/ It had cat ears, for Pete’s sake! CAT EARS!

And the bag of the season! Enter fluffiness.

On a completely unrelated note – I cannot get Busta Rhymes “Woo ha!” out of my head…

Outfit: duffle coat – ASOS, cord skirt – Esprit, overknees – Falke, wedges – ASOS, bag – Pilar Abril, scarf – Soaked in Luxury and THE HAT – Seeberger.

Cheers.

Sausage dog

Standard

Just a partial outfit post – only outer layers, named after my beret.

Just some info on the outfit, due to the lack of insporation – I always wanted a trench coat, but of course it could not be normal, as in classy. This one is awesome – was a gift for my last birthday from myself – the lining can be taken out, so you can wear it all year round (unless it is really freezing) and it is of all kinds of funky colors. So – good enough for work, but it does not make me sink into depression, just because it is all black.

The scarf is from around 5 years ago – I got it in India. Some random mittens from amazon.com, called Guru or something like that. Burgundy turtleneck sweater peeking from behind the scarf  is from H&M on sale and has turned into a favorite. Knee high socks, I think from asos, but I am not sure anymore. My trusty Timberland boots and the Free people beret, called – the sausage dog…OK OK there is no THE, but I got it because of the name and it is warm and funky…

And the most important  thing – the bag. I got it on zalando-lounge for 24 Euros! I’ve been looking for a faux fur bag for several years now and this was such an epic steal. I am ridiculously happy with it – chic yet crazy. By Patrizia Pepe.

Cheers

Outfit post. Shoe Challenge #3

Standard

I took advantage of the good weather to take some pictures for the shoe challenge (check the Shoeperwoman website for more detail). These shoes, though are my current favorite, are also quite difficult to incorporate into an outfit. They look good with rolled up jeans, but I just couldn’t be bothered shaving my legs just for few pictures, hence the black tights. So sue me.

Outfit: skirt and tank top – Esprit, top – H&M jacket – Tiks, shoes – Asos Totally Suede, scarf – Soaked in Luxury, earrings – from India.

There’s not much to report today, except that I cleaned the windows, so just enjoy the pictures 🙂

Cheers

Oufit post. Warm November.

Standard

So, on the weekend we were spoiled by some nice warm (for November) weather… So we sneaked out to take some pictures in between rain showers.

See, this is why one should write a personal style blog…so one could see the difference between what is in the mirror (aka imagination) and in reality. Apparently this outfit is not working, even though I was really feelin’ it, if ya know what I mean. I don’t know what it is…either the shoes are too bulky or maybe the pants should have been rolled up a tinsy bit higher…or I should lose a couple of kilos I gained recently so the pants would look nicer (totally not ma fault though – I just do not go out much due to rain and general moodiness of the weather(note to self: start a weather channel) and jumping around in the house by yourself is boring..).

Outfit: t – shirt – some old pajamas t shirt about referendum regarding EU, hoodie and pants – Esprit, shoes – ASOS, jacket – Tiks, scarf – soaked in luxury.

Anyway. Here are some more pictures of the outfit.

And of the details.

Cheers.

Outfit post. Forest fun.

Standard

We visited our dear friends on Halloween. Before the dinner we went for a walk in the forest. I needed to change my shoes unfortunately, so the oufit is not exactly what I was wearing (originally it looked a bit 70s :)), but I could not risk wading throught the mud in good shoes. I have my rubber boots for exactly this purpose – crappy weather and/or walking conditions. I think I am still way too practical to be an actual fashion blogger…I worry if I will be comfortable, if I will not ruin my clothes or shoes, if the bag will not be in the way, the skirt will not be too short, so I don’t end up pulling it down all the time etc. So often I end up wearing not exactly what I had in mind. But believe me, in this case rubber boots were a must…

Outfit: top – Esprit, sweater – United Colors of Benetton, jeans and belt – Esprit, scarf – from the market in India, jacket – some (non existing any more?) Lithuanian brand Tiks, boots – The Only, from amazon.

Due to my lame posing (I am still polishing my technique…*cough*) I could use only this one picture of my outfit, so more stories under forest pictures.

I bought the sweater in India. It is made of awesome wool..you know, the one that bights the skin? I love it. The colour is so nicely in your face :). Perfect piece for the winter – both practical and cute.

The jacket was aquired years ago, and I mean years…Like 7 or so. I wear it every year, it has never stayed in my closet during this jacket appropriate weather. I bought it for my last money. A couple of my friends from university and me were wandering this outlet store (at that time it was not that popular yet) and I saw this jacket for 35 Litas I think (around 10 euros in today’s currency rates) and I scraped my last money (I think it was all coins :D) and bought it. What an investment. I really love it when this happens – manage to snag a thing of great quality for a steal 😀

Outfit post. New Shoes, baby!

Standard

I had a couple of friends visiting this weekend and while showing them around managed to make some pictures of my outfit.

Outfit: scarf and coat – Esprit, shoes – Asos, bag – Takko, tights – cannot remember. Not visible: skirt – Esprit, stripped sweater – Zara and t-shirt – New Yorker.

The shoes are…there are not words to describe. They are so beautiful, and the price I paid, makes them astonishing 😀 Original price was 110 pounds and I got them for 33! The heel is perfectly proportioned with the shape and they look great. AND they do not hurt my feet at all and are so comfortable. I walked around in them all day and evening(no band aids!). Even some accidental dancing happened. And all this didn’t result in any blisters. So…I’m in love.

Image 1 of ASOS TOTALLY Suede Premium Crepe Lace Up Boots

Originally there were two colours: the one above and another one, hm..copper would be the best to describe. I really liked them both, but decided, since I have knee boots of similar colour I will go for the colder one with contrasting shoe laces 🙂 But I think both pairs would have found their place in my wardrobe.

And here are more Autumn colours.

Hope you had a nice weekend as well. I still need rest 😀

Cheers.

Outfit post. Blue scarf, long boots.

Standard

The name of the post sounds a bit like pirate names…I need an eye patch. The outfit itself is not at all piraty, but rather elegant.

Outfit: coat and jeggings – Esprit, scarf – from India, shoes – Bronx.

Camera accumulator died on us so there were only three pictures and only one showable. So there you go.

I can’t remember which top I wore…but oh well.

The shoes were aquired back in Lithuania like…3 years ago…I’m not sure. But they are really great. Thick heel makes them rather comfortable to walk, in, decorative belts or however those things are called add kind of a rock’n’roll touch and the colour adds a nice pop to  dark outfit, which is almost always the case this time of year, since I own only this one coat for current temperatures. Sadly, this is also the only wool scarf I own, so for outfits I can only work with my bottom…(yes I do realize how it sounds :D), that is – legs, since the top is a constant. Ergo – funky footwear and/or tights (p.s. I love how jeggings are so easy to stuff into knee boots).

I am hoping to snap some outfit pictures this weekend if the weather allows, since we plan a lot of outdoor activities.

Cheers.

Outfit post. Yellow and Navy

Standard

Even though the weather is still spoiling us with warmth and sun, I just need to start wearing Autumn clothes. I hate being in between – either Summer or Autumn.

Anyway. I stocked up on colourful tights from asos and this is the second outing for these particular ones.

Since it was too warm for booties and I really really wanted to wear coloured tights, I went for pairing them with sandals. I don’t remember ever wearing tights together with sandals…to me it always seemed such a violation of rules of good taste… I sure am glad I started reading fashion blogs. I learned to appreciate a lot of things I somehow could not accept before.

Outfit: top – Zara, skirt – s.Oliver, tights – ASOS, sandals – Clarks, coat – Etam, scarf – Soaked in Luxury, bag – Mango, butterfly pendant – from mom.

The outfit began with tights and other parts just came together instantly. But they were all dark. I needed something bright. I think the result turned out pretty well – yellow works great and I was really feeling the oufit.

And I think my photographer is really starting to get a grip on what kind of pictures I want to have.

And here is the full outfit. The only thing that was lacking IMHO (and according to my husband as well) – some shoe clips to brighten up the lower part of the whole outfit. I discovered some really nice examples, but I gave oath to myself not buy anything anymore at least until Christmas. But maybe I’ll do the post on them.

The scarf has a story behind it. I bought it at the Copenhagen airport while waiting for the transfer and I was really in love with it. I wore it with everything, everywhere. But then I went to Limp Bizkit concert and lost the scarf…  I was really upset, but I was lucky to travel again through Copenhagen  a couple of weeks later and they still had a couple left! I had a short transfer so I had to run to the store…Good thing it was on my way 😀

And here are some Autumn colours from our littlo town.

Enjoy the Autumn!

Cheers.

Outfit post. New camera try outs.

Standard

Some days simply disappeared. Su much has happened in the last week, that after a calm day passes, you forget it ever existed. So, now that it happened, that we have a new camera (Nikon d3000), we needed to mark the occassion by taking it outside. Plus the weather was finally nice.

First the outfit, more try out results in the next post.

Jersey top – asos, jacket – Retro jeans, jeans – FLG jeans , belt and scarf – esprit, shoes – Converse(got last year in London), bag – Lacoste(from Ebay), earrings – gift from my cousin, vintage camera – Zorki 4K family heirloom.

A portrait picture, to check what our camera can do. I always liked the manual focus possibility, which I could not achieve with my point and shoot Lumix TZ3.

The whole outfit gives me a bit of 70s or early 80s feeling. I like. The top combination was already seen here. I wrote before, that I sort of repeat the same clothes, but now that I think about it, I do not want to show ALL NEW stuff on my blog. It is actually fun to wear same clothes differently. I like that the top combination goes well with a skirt as well as with jeans. So I think that I will continue on similar path. Because well, not everyone (including yours truly) can afford to have a vast wardrobe and show new clothes in every post (unless they do their posts rather rarely :)). So there, philosophy of my blog is starting to shape up.

I asked my dad to bring me his old camera. As a kid I always fiddled around with it and now I finally get to try it too 🙂 We bought 4 films and they are all 36 frames, which is kind of annoying – it will take some time to use up the film and see if anything good came out.

And here is mah man (mah husband! I should say). We both need time to adjust to the camera, it has so much functions, that we learn via trials and mistakes. This picture turned out a bit to bright, but I am  not one of those people who will NOT put crappy (depending on the point of view) pictures in public 😀 The important thing here is, that the oufit is visible, right?

Oufit: cap – Starter, pullover and cargo pants – H&M, shoes – converse, backpack – Campus.

And here is some more fiddling around. I kind of like this overexposure. Looks like a vintage photo. So there you go. Have a nice day.

Cheers.
