PINK! Yet again…

Standard

I just mentioned in the previous post, that I am into low key clothing at the moment. Well, this post is not a total contradiction (obviously) – the in yo face pink skirt is the only in your face thing in this outfit. And yes, I wore this to the office.

The one thing that obsessive fashion blog browsing has taught me is, that there is nothing wrong with wearing bright colors in Autumn and Winter. And since the fabric of the skirt is quite thick, I intend to wear it well way into Autumn at least, maybe combining them with some knee high boots. We’ll see how it goes.

And the rest of the outfit just lets the skirt do the talking. Twirling is better than twerking anyway.

You will be seeing much more of this bag, because this bag basically became the only bag that matters during the last couple of months. It helps me keep the outfits office-y. And I can do my grocery shopping without any additional bag, another awesome feature, that is much appreciated in the bags (and yes people do stare at you if you put your milk and sausage in the bag). And look how it can stand on its own! That’s a good bag!

Some random close ups and details of the skirt. It has a bow belt! How can you not love it.

And please ignore my finger in the next pic, the edge just did not want to stay up after a day at the desk.

So there you have it.

Outfit: body – Ganni, skirt – ASOS, shoes – Pretty Ballerinas, bag – Zara.

Cheers.

Crocs

Standard

That’s right, yo! (I’ve been watching way too many episodes of Breaking Bad). Well not really. No matter how open to all the weirdness that is fashion I am, I still cannot get on board with the “classic” crocs. Though the new models I saw are actually not bad at all. But that is totally off the point.

Continuing the outfits from the botanical garden, I give you – crocodiles and palms.

This skirt happened almost two years ago with Versace for H&M. I hadn’t managed to wear it last summer. But I made sure that it did not lay around my closet this year. Silk in summer – very important. And how about those metal corners! Oh the attention to detail…

I went the easy way with the outfit – white t-shirt – done. Plus, you cannot overstretch your brain in the heat, while making too many complicated decisions. So the easy way – totally justifiable. The bag and shoes are from yesterday’s post, because – see previous sentence.

The bracelet is from ADR for H&M collection and is pretty flashy for my taste. But I managed to squeeze it in a couple of outfits this summer.

And last but not least – the shoes! Crocheted Toms. I am insanely happy with them – were my hand down favorite shoes this summer – proper ventilation – also very important!

I have no idea why, but cactuses (cacti!) seemed fitting in this post, so enjoy:

and some more…

Outfit: t-shirt – Esprit, skirt – Versace for H&M, shoes – Toms, Bag – vintage, Bracelet – ADR for H&M

Pseudo ballerina

Standard

this is my interpretation of ballerina outfit. The skirt ist not really a tutu, but I think it works. A body or however you may call it also suits the purpose and the shoes are called after ballerinas so, we’re good.

Found this thang on sale on zalando. It is my now go to top for work. It is conservative, but with a certain flare – a bit of nakedness in the back, sailor collar in the front (sorry for the wrinkled shot – I do not have a stylist on the shoot), tight, but not too tight.

As per usual – goofy photos, because who wants to be serious.

some more mug shots:

and one more photos, because my new lens is that awesome:

Outfit details: Top/body – Ganni, skirt – United Colors of Benetton, shoes – Pretty Ballerinas, bag – cannot remember, something from yoox.

Cheers.

Variations of pink

Standard

I am a fan of pink. I really don’t get it, why pink ist considered lame and women who wear pink usually regarded as simple and what not. Pink is for baby girls…Also, everyone immediately starts talking about Barbie. I think pink is awesome. Such a vibrant and fun colour. And Barbie, she got style.

So let us start with the visuals of the pink shoes. These are not exactly Barbie pink, but they are in-yo-face enough. I love the retro feel from a clunky heel and round toe. And they are comfortable. Even if I have an appointment on the other side of the factory, I can wear these on that day, without having to worry about how I am going to walk there.

And here is the rest of the outfit. I actually wore this to work last week. Pink and green is the color combination, which brings that feeling of almost summer.

And some more clothes from the family of pink-purplish-redish whatever – a skirt and a bag.

_DSC0084_DSC0082

Some more retro with the grandma jacket and huge buttons. And it turns out to be a pretty decent outfit.

And to conclude the story, some awkward shots. Because that’s what happens when you take pictures. Keepin’ it real.

I am not so much with the words today, but I really really wanted to post these pictures.

Outfit: jacket – Monton, button down – I think from Pull and Bear, skirt – Sisley, bag – don’t remember anymore, from Yoox.com, shoes – Zign.

Outfit post. Shoe Challenge #3

Standard

I took advantage of the good weather to take some pictures for the shoe challenge (check the Shoeperwoman website for more detail). These shoes, though are my current favorite, are also quite difficult to incorporate into an outfit. They look good with rolled up jeans, but I just couldn’t be bothered shaving my legs just for few pictures, hence the black tights. So sue me.

Outfit: skirt and tank top – Esprit, top – H&M jacket – Tiks, shoes – Asos Totally Suede, scarf – Soaked in Luxury, earrings – from India.

There’s not much to report today, except that I cleaned the windows, so just enjoy the pictures 🙂

Cheers

Outfit post. New Shoes, baby!

Standard

I had a couple of friends visiting this weekend and while showing them around managed to make some pictures of my outfit.

Outfit: scarf and coat – Esprit, shoes – Asos, bag – Takko, tights – cannot remember. Not visible: skirt – Esprit, stripped sweater – Zara and t-shirt – New Yorker.

The shoes are…there are not words to describe. They are so beautiful, and the price I paid, makes them astonishing 😀 Original price was 110 pounds and I got them for 33! The heel is perfectly proportioned with the shape and they look great. AND they do not hurt my feet at all and are so comfortable. I walked around in them all day and evening(no band aids!). Even some accidental dancing happened. And all this didn’t result in any blisters. So…I’m in love.

Originally there were two colours: the one above and another one, hm..copper would be the best to describe. I really liked them both, but decided, since I have knee boots of similar colour I will go for the colder one with contrasting shoe laces 🙂 But I think both pairs would have found their place in my wardrobe.

And here are more Autumn colours.

Hope you had a nice weekend as well. I still need rest 😀

Cheers.

Outfit post. Grey With a Hint of Orange

Standard

Sudden burst of warmth took over our town yesterday…+23 in October…I’m not complaining 😀 It was a perfect opportunity to take some pictures outside. We went for a walk in the town, where the market and some Lunapark was taking place.

It is the same outfit as here, just with different shoes and earrings. So, here it is.

Outfit: top, earrings and shoes – Asos, skirt – Esprit, bag – Mango, sunnies – Polaroid.

Learned to pose a bit more. I think turned out quite OK.

You can’t see, but I am holding a bottle of water in my left hand…perfect poser :D.

It was my last chance to not wear tights and wear my feather earrings one last time this year.

And here is a couple of random photos from the market.

Candy.

I have no idea what this is :). Hope you had a nice weekend too.

Styling online. Autumn colours

Standard

So, here are the two outfits I put together today. Stuff I would like to wear if I owned anything close to it. One outfit with Autumn layering against the cold weather and another one with a pop of colour against depressing weather 🙂

Items to be put on my wishlist: checked jeans, lace up knee boots, knee length quirky print skirt.

Outfit post. August 18th, 2010

OK, so from the below pictures you can tell – I do not like make up 😀 The only thing that I use on regular basis is mascara (but I have a bit of a problem with my left eye, so for now mascara is put aside), so I would not look too washed out. If there is some special occasion – I use brown and purple eye shadows and brown eye pencil, and sometimes lip gloss. But in general, I do not want my skin to suffer this whole chemistry until I actually DO NEED to cover it up..in like 10 or 15 years :). However, after taking pictures I do see that additional effort is needed.

Also, I would like to have some nicely styled hair too, but first of all – I do not have patience, seconf of all – I don’t know how. I usually opt for some easy-to-take-care-of  hair cuts and be done with it. Put on to do (to learn) list – learn to do my hair. I have a friend who’s a hairdresser, I hope she will teach me or at least contribute to my hair appearance 😀 She does make up too, so we’ll see.

Expression suitable for the gloomy rainy day -me, top, bangle and brooch – Asos, skirt and leggings – Esprit, jacket – Retro jeans, rain boots – Be only.

It’s a pitty that it is so dark all the time, many photos came out quite blurry. So I was left only with these lame pose ones. But I like that my blog is starting to get into some sort of shape, and I wanted to share at least something. Plus, I like the idea of looking at this as my visual diary and not just blah blah. I think it will be cool to look back after some time and see what happened when and how it looked like.

Suspicious teacher’s expression – check.

Gonna do some housework around here and then go play dress up 😀

Cheers.

p.s. who did a rain dance again?!

Yesterday I got to try the new pair shoes I got from Asos instead of my Steve Madden sandals 🙂 They are perfect. The colour, the shape, the leather and they are so comfortable! Also, the ankle strap is not too high, so does not give the optical illusion of a short leg. So, I can further develop my new found love for grey colour.

Image 1 of ASOS HOTFOOT Leather Ankle Strap Wedges

I used to have an opinion, that if the company makes clothes, then it is most likely that the shoes it produces will be rather crappy – uncomfortable, bad quality or, dunno, something else. I rather trust my feet exlusively to shoe companies. But since Asos has a large collection of shoes, I decided to take my chance and I do not regret 😀

Lame pose -me, top and cardigan – Esprit, skirt –  Benetton, shoes and brooch – Asos, bag – Mango, bangles – from Lithuania and India, earrings – from India, sunnies – Polaroid.

In the morning was a bit cooler so originally the shoes were paired up with jeans (the shoes go really well with almost all of my jeans, which are normally too long for flats and I need to roll them up). I wanted to make some nice pictures in the park, but by the time we managed to actually go to the park it was too warm for jeans so I slipped into my Summer’s favorite skirt.

Since I am new to all this personal style blogging, I am still learning. After I uploaded photos for this post, I noticed that I wore a lot of same stuff (same top, skirt, bag, bangles)…hm…So will need to do something else in the near future. But for now let it be a topic on how to wear the same thing different ways :). After all, we do find clothes that are the most comfortable to us and stick to them, am I right?

Anyway. The skirt you’ve seen here. The bag was featured so far in almost all of my posts as the top and it’s twin too. About the cardigan I wrote here. I also got brooch from asos. I was eyeing it ever since I saw it on the website. Now that it was on sale, I decided to go for it, since I was ordering the shoes from there anyway 🙂

Asos brooch (Miu Miu knock off much :D) Miu Miu swallow brooch.

I just cannot act normal and pose professionally, I need to make a fool out of myself. Here is the proof 😀

The pictures were made in the castle of Paffendorf, which has a really lovely park.

And here is the park itself.

And here’s us – my dear camera man and me. In the next post you will see his outfit with more description as well 🙂

And also, you can see my earrings. They have a butterfly shape and are quite heavy. I finally got them out of my jewelry box this summer. Before I could not find an outfit that they would go with. Not to self: never get rid of the stuff that you love, but cannot find a way to wear it. Just wait. The time will come.

Cheers.
