As I mentioned in one post before – one part of the botanical garden in Marburg is especially cool – the butterfly house.
We color-coordinated outfits with the butterfly above.
Not much to tell – was the third time trolling around the garden, so just no story here. Just an outfit and some pictures of butterflies.
Outfit: dress – H&M, hat – Seeberger, Shoes – TOMS, bag – vintage, sunnies – Polaroid
so after two years of living here, we’ve finally managed to get our butts to this magical place that is botanical garden in Marburg.
Naturally it was only fitting to wear something with flowers. I got this dress on a disappointing shopping trip in Dusseldorf, where I was working at the time. It was the only thing I got that day and a colleague of mine came back empty handed.
It was pretty damn hot that day, which turned us into demotivated snails – we were shuffling around the place while being on a constant lookout for benches in the shade. Still the experience was really nice. I liked the green houses a lot, especially the butterfly area and the Mexico with all the cactuses (I KNOW, it is cacti). More pictures still to come.
I am also expanding my collection of the hats, but I still don’t have anything that would have gone well with this outfit. The sun was really blazing and we, of course, went during the hottest hours of the day. I just had to have something to cover my head, even though I was not really feeling that the hat goes with the whole outfit. Oh well, at least I can say, I am not a total fashion victim.
Outfit: dress- H&M, bag – vintage from grandma, hat – Seeberger, shoes – Toms.
Yellow is just because after I looked through photos, that I noticed yellow bench and flowers. Other than that, the outfit has nothing to do with yellow.
Actually the outfit has everything to do with the hat. I passed by this cute littlo shop in the old town. We were too early on a Saturday, so only window shopping was possible. This straw hat caught my attention immediately, but I could not really do anything about it. So I forgot all about it until we were in the town on another Saturday morning at a more decent hour. I tried it on then and there and of course I had to buy it. And of course I had to wear it the same day and since the weather was unexpectedly warm and we planned to go somewhere anyway I saw THE opportunity.
The door in the picture on the right can wait until I am finished blabbering on about the outfit. It is there just for the visual balance.
So, what is going on here outfit wise. First of all the in-yo-face floral pants. Of course it is not so in-yo-face when you live in the blogosphere, but believe me – those babies earned me a lot of disapproving looks. I’m sure once I wear them to work, I will get even more. Then my impractically white ballerinas. I must say – approved. Comfortable, really well done with a lot of attention to detail. I just got a bit of a blister on the heel, which is totally expected with new shoes.
Simple white v-neck t-shirt and a jean jacket, since i could not come up with anything else. And of course THE HAT and a straw clutch, so the hat would not be totally out of the context. THE HAT actually reminds me a bit of a bonnet from 1850 or smth. I was browsing for a picture of a bonnet to at least try and show what I mean by that aand found this weirdly cool website for costume supplies. So there you have it.
And ta-da – the new glasses. Frame – Moschino. I think they deserve a separate post.
Outift details: pants – H&M, t-shirt – Esprit, jacket – Sisley, shoes – Pretty Ballerinas, clutch- the Body Shop and the HAT – Seeberger.
Ah, and the door – awesome isn’t it?
