Repetition 1

Standard

so in the next couple of years I will be as poor as a church mouse because we plan to build a house and my husband will also be working just part time in order to finish his studies. Which means major change in our budget. And this means – no more shopping except for the absolute necessary, ya know – socks and underwear and stuff. But I am in the need of constant change in my wardrobe. And this blog will have to assist me in not getting sick with the same clothes over and over and over again.

As you can see from the post title – I will try to make this into a series of posts.

Here we have two mug shots. Same dress – two ways (this sounds tired…but oh well). And there you have it – one sporty and one girly outfit involving accessory change and that’s it.

And a close up of the shoes, since you cannot really see properly in the pictures above. Swedish Hasbeens, I got for a third of the original price (score!) back in May. I loooove them. I can never wear peep toes, because the press on my toes which in order gives me blisters and a world of pain. These, however, do not!

And my beloved Converse with Marimekko print, which you’ve already seen here:

And a bonus detail shot of the dress and a bag.

and some more mug shots with the bad lighting.

Cheers.

Outfit 1: dress – H&M, sneakers – Converse, clutch – Asos

Outfit 2: dress – H&M, clogs – Swedish Hasbeens, bag – Zara

Variations of pink

Standard

I am a fan of pink. I really don’t get it, why pink ist considered lame and women who wear pink usually regarded as simple and what not. Pink is for baby girls…Also, everyone immediately starts talking about Barbie. I think pink is awesome. Such a vibrant and fun colour. And Barbie, she got style.

So let us start with the visuals of the pink shoes. These are not exactly Barbie pink, but they are in-yo-face enough. I love the retro feel from a clunky heel and round toe. And they are comfortable. Even if I have an appointment on the other side of the factory, I can wear these on that day, without having to worry about how I am going to walk there.

And here is the rest of the outfit. I actually wore this to work last week. Pink and green is the color combination, which brings that feeling of almost summer.

And some more clothes from the family of pink-purplish-redish whatever – a skirt and a bag.

_DSC0084_DSC0082

Some more retro with the grandma jacket and huge buttons. And it turns out to be a pretty decent outfit.

And to conclude the story, some awkward shots. Because that’s what happens when you take pictures. Keepin’ it real.

_DSC0096_DSC0107

I am not so much with the words today, but I really really wanted to post these pictures.

Outfit: jacket – Monton, button down – I think from Pull and Bear, skirt – Sisley, bag – don’t remember anymore, from Yoox.com, shoes – Zign.

Yellow

Standard

Yellow is just because after I looked through photos, that I noticed yellow bench and flowers. Other than that, the outfit has nothing to do with yellow.

Actually the outfit has everything to do with the hat. I passed by this cute littlo shop in the old town. We were too early on a Saturday, so only window shopping was possible. This straw hat caught my attention immediately, but I could not really do anything about it. So I forgot all about it until we were in the town on another Saturday morning at a more decent hour. I tried it on then and there and of course I had to buy it. And of course I had to wear it the same day and since the weather was unexpectedly warm and we planned to go somewhere anyway I saw THE opportunity.

The door in the picture on the right can wait until I am finished blabbering on about the outfit. It is there just for the visual balance.

So, what is going on here outfit wise. First of all the in-yo-face floral pants. Of course it is not so in-yo-face when you live in the blogosphere, but believe me – those babies earned me a lot of disapproving looks. I’m sure once I wear them to work, I will get even more. Then my impractically white ballerinas. I must say – approved. Comfortable, really well done with a lot of attention to detail. I just got a bit of a blister on the heel, which is totally expected with new shoes.

Simple white v-neck t-shirt and a jean jacket, since i could not come up with anything else. And of course THE HAT and a straw clutch, so the hat would not be totally out of the context. THE HAT actually reminds me a bit of a bonnet from 1850 or smth. I was browsing for a picture of a bonnet to at least try and show what I mean by that aand found this weirdly cool website for costume supplies. So there you have it.

And ta-da – the new glasses. Frame – Moschino. I think they deserve a separate post.

Outift details: pants – H&M, t-shirt – Esprit, jacket – Sisley, shoes – Pretty Ballerinas, clutch- the Body Shop and the HAT – Seeberger.

Ah, and the door – awesome isn’t it?

Cheers

Jean shorts

Standard

There was quite a huge trend last summer methinks, where almost all blogs and fashion mags where jumping on a cut offs’ wagon. I love jean shorts myself, but had to wait it out until the trend died down. When it is on a roll, the outfit will be lost in a see of the same stuff everyone wears. Dunno…would make it less special or would feel like mimicking.

So anyway. I finally got myself some awesome jean shorts on H&M sale. Don’t think they are summer appropriate though – the material is quite thick. So just after I got them in November or December, they turned into my Autumn uniform.

Wearing: sweater and shorts – H&M, button down – Etam, boots – Timberland.

Paired with opaque tights was very weather appropriate (and I do dress weather appropriate 99% of the time).

Let’s talk boots now. I did not have any flat shoes for the transitional (or however you want to call it) weather. When it is no longer warm enough to wear ballerinas, but not quite the time for the boots with fur.

I am really happy with this acquisition – I am wearing the boots all the time – they are and look awesome, so cost per wear is reducing as we speak. The 150Eur price tag is completely justified and approved. I had to go half a size up though, cause my usual size 38 (UK 5) was a bit narrow and I like to keep the option open to wear more than one pair of socks without compromising the blood flow to and from my feet.

I will leave all the responsible and green aspect of the boots aside. Cause even though there are partly recycled materials used in the production of the boots, yet those boots are not made locally blah blah blah and not sure if the recycling would compensate for the carbon footprint due to transportation and what not. I just think that these are good looking boots of great quality and I am sure I will be wearing them for years to come. Also not bad, that a couple of plastic bottles where turned into parts of the shoe, right? And I said I would leave this aside..whatevs.

Here is a detailed shot of a sweater. All of my sweaters are sortta shape revealing and lately I felt like I need to get some stuff, that is looser. The colour is something I’ve been drawn to for a while and I like the littlo pocket.
Not sure how long the sweater is going to last, since the quality ist not superb, but I think it already paid off, cause I wear it “ALL THE TIME” (HOW ANNOYING IS THIS PHRASE?!)

Cheers.

Cognac

Standard

I am missing dresses and skirts in my winter wardrobe, so here is a new addition – a full brown skirt (also a result of H&M sale abuse).
This is an outfit that I wore to work last week.

There is some more brown stuff going on in this picture apart from a skirt as you can see (a blogger who chooses her words carefully might say – earthy colors or cognac, hence the title of a post) – brown elbow patches (yay!) and stitches on the cardigan and brown boots. And some awkward posing to top it all off.

I am quite happy with the skirt, despite it being synthetic and being a total pain to iron. And here is a detailed shot. I changed the belt that came with the skirt with a belt, that I got from my mom.

And here are the awesome elbow patches:

Plus the boots:

Outfit details: skirt- H&M, button down – Etam, cardigan – Esprit, belt – vintage, tights – dunno, boots – Bronx.

So there you go. Cognac.

THE Leggings

Standard

I finally figured out my password to my gmail account for the gallery with all the blog photos. I think I harassed someone accidentally, because it appears that I had forgotten my username as well and send requests about forgotten passwords and account unlocking to Google about someone else accounts…

THE leggings and what an odyssey it was to get them.. I was sitting half a day on November 17th clicking refresh every couple of minutes, since the website of H&M was not able to handle all the crazy shoppers.

Guess what? After the package arrived, surprise surprise – leggings were in a totally different size than I ordered! I was really disappointed and pissed. Who can mix up 36 with 42?! There was immediate rushing to the computer to order another pair. And of course 36 had already sold out. So I got 38 instead. Then after a couple of weeks the package came again. Oh joy! Tearing of a package and!..huh? Am I missing something? There was supposed to be a bag with some extremely bright seizure inducing colours here. Turns out – they sent me a long ugly coloured too big in size cardigan!

Anyway, I did not want to do anything anymore with H&M online store for this particular item(of course I called and yelled at them that I do not want to buy this thing anymore..another long story), so I ordered them on Ebay. Of course, I could have waited for ladies to return the stuff, since they had realized by now that they will not wear the clown leggings (I saw such comment on the interwebs – apparently clowns wear such pants..I thought they wear huge wide leg ones..whatever) and I could have gotten them eventually and maybe even on sale. But since I was really really really obsessed with those damn leggings and really really really pissed with the store, that I did not care anymore that I had to overpay on Ebay.

So. Here they are! (drums) The epic leggings from the epic Versace for H&M collection.

Naturally we are not experiencing the weather for suitable for the above outfits yet, but the world deserves to see.

Wearing:

The first picture: H&M dress, THE leggings and asos wedge shoes.

The second picture: shirt from my husband’s closet, belt from my mom’s closet, THE leggings and the Pretty Ballerinas. There is also a Desigual clutch in my hands. Nevermind the hair thing on my wrist.

So there.
